Ethically, Gandi are awesome. In in nearly 20 years of service they've never been misleading nor have they ever tried to screw us over like so many other registrars. Not once. So why are we moving on? Because their transfer in process and domain contact management processes are the clunkiest pile of crap in the business. So much confusion, re-entry of information, slow pages and just straight up bugs and I've finally had enough.

Final straw is that after a recent transfer in, I can't see the domain in my list of domains to manage, though I was quite careful during the process to make sure we were admin and tech contacts. Even worse, the client (owner) can't see the domain when logged in either, even though they received the confirmation email from Gandi.net. Over 24 hours and nothing but an autoresponse on the ticket. Meanwhile we NEED to do DNS changes.

Good experience with the UK domains here. They offered the cheapest UK names for 5 pounds per year, with privacy included, and before GDPR not many registrars can say they had real privacy service for the UK names. On top of that they also offered Address For Service (like Trustee) for free for the new .UK extension which was required before GDPR, to have an admin person in UK, to be able to register a domain.uk. Support kinda slow, alot of extensions, not the cheapest for other extensions.

I really can't say enough good things about these guys, at least as far as the domain registrar portion of their outfit is concerned. They include more services with every domain than anyone else I've found and e-mail support is quick and sharp as a tack. They have 2FA available to secure your account, and the admin page gives you access to every setting imaginable.Right now I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

They provide good comprehensive domain name services like email, ssl, redirection, whois protection and etc for free. Their UI is easy to navigate compared to other registrars. They provide U2F too.

Their Whois privacy protection is false. Their protection does not hide the name of the organization, state, or country. All three are always publicly available.

Scammers

They leaked my private data including address, telephone number, and everything else when I was registering a domain. That was kind of unexpected considering there was no information that they reveal not just full name but everything for that specific zone. Then refused to remove the domain / roll back the purchase saying you should come in person to their Paris office or send a physical notarized letter and your documents for that. In a couple of weeks they made the whois data (minus the fullname) private for that zone. But it was too late as the private info had already been indexed by search engines and ended up on all kinds of third party services. That happened to many people, I've seen the same complaints on their feedback website that has been shut down (I guess Gandi stuff didn't like the number of unhappy customers).

Overall, I think Gandi.net is not worth it. You overpay for BS service branded as "no BS" (literally their motto). There are cheaper and better services.

I'm new gandi user, few days ago I made .com domain order for my self on my own gandi account, no issue. Then few days later 2nd order was for sister account, I paid with same CC which is belong to me (she paid to me in cash) because in my country people have CC are very rare. Then few days after that I made 3rd order for my friend account (she paid in cash too me also) and I paid to gandi using same CC. Apparently 3rd ordered was being denied, so I use other CC belong to me still being denied twice! So I contact gandi asked to explain the reason why they reject the payment but until I write this here it's been almost 24 hours gandi have not reply it. The domain activation after payment is paid was too slow it takes almost an hour just to made the order have Paid status and domain order being activated.

In my opinion they really need to have faster and reliable help support standby 24 hours, and I didn't found ticket support inside member dashboard either!!

These scammers are worth 0 stars. I've registered 2 domains with them that they showed as available. No activation or provisioning for 3 days, so I contacted them and they had the audacity to tell me the names are 'restricted'. Requested refund via chat, they've send me to submit a ticket, submitted a ticket, they applied 'service credit', contacted them via chat again, they said submit another ticket. I am disputing with paypal, these folks are FRAUDSTERS!

I think that the listing of transfer prices for .pw should be changed since Gandi do NOT include year extension with a domain transfer in .pw unlike a number of other registrars in your list, so the price is not comparable. While this is shown deep in their TOS for this particular extension, I think they need to make it more clear up front when doing a transfer. As a result until this is made more clear I will not be using their services again.

Самый тормозной регистратор на моей памяти. Платежи проводят медленно, NS меняют еще медленнее. При регистрации в одной из национальных зон от начала регистрации и до возможности использовать домен прошло 5 суток. Хотя у других регистраторов это занимало максимум сутки.

Нет возможности ввести сторонние NS сервера прямо при регистрации, а не после.

Нет возможности использовать разные профили для регистрации. В общем коловой регистратор.

Best support and services so far.

I used several other registrars, Gandi outmatches them in terms of:

- Speed (Domain registration and transfers were quite fast);

- Support (I always had good and prompt feedback to tickets);

- Management (the new cloud backend is really good);

- Features (I can use several profiles/companies for different domains and groups them);

- Security (2FA and other security measures);

- Privacy (self explanatory).

A little pricey than other registrars but nice features like a free blog.
